Report on The Mikado
Forty years on and a
repeat of its first production, that is a good way to celebrate a special
birthday.
Having not witnessed any
of the society's previous four productions of "The Mikado" I can't
draw comparison, but this must rate as one of the best. Presented in
traditional style with just the odd expected variance in word and song.
The switch from the
musical comedy presented over the past few years to G&S proves the
versatility of the talent within the company, the principal line full of
experience led the way with their characterisation and quality singing, Ko-Ko
was quite professional. I liked the costumes, the set and the care to detail.
Don't let us forget the orchestra, which complimented a very satisfying
production.
