Annie - October 1999
This review appeared in the Midlands Edition of NODA News:
The orphans created a lively opening and provided a good introduction to “Miss Hannigan”, Joan Ransom, a character to which she had obviously given much thought and maintained throughout the show.
“Annie”, Kimberly Southwick, was a delight, with a very strong clear voice, clear diction, and good movement. However, a very small observation - I did miss Annie’s curly hair!!
John Hibbs was a strong and
forceful “Daddy Warbucks”. “Grace Farrell, talented Sally Henderson. The
three girls playing the “Boylan Sisters” provided an amusing harmonising
performance, which was brilliantly reproduced by the orphans, in their song and
dance version of ‘You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile’. Good
support came from the other principles and chorus, despite at times a little
slowing of the pace.
Daisy gave a very creditable performance as "scruffy" the dog!
