The Music Man

A well rehearsed opening Railway Carriage scene. A good all-round cast, with Theo Theobald as the fast talking Harold Hill. Jane Carter was an attractive Marian Paroo, having a good singing voice. Terry Wheddon gave a forceful performance as Mayor Shinn. Margaret Bates as Mayor Shinn's wife, Eulalie, was amusing, especially when performing in the Eulalie Ballet Quartet. The small demanding role of Winthrop Paroo was played by Callum Runciman, maintaining his lisp very well. A large hardworking chorus sang well, coping with the "Shipoopi" and "Pick-A-Little" numbers confidently. Good costumes and scenery - altogether a good evening's entertainment.
